Have you ever heard of 'eho-maki', or 'fortune rolls'?
Today, Feburary 3rd is Setsubun, which is to celebrate the coming of spring.
On this day, people eat 'eho-maki', the special sushi rolls, for dinner while facing the auspicious direction of the year with eyes closed, and in silence without speaking any words until they finish eating the roll.
(This year's auspicious direction is south-southeast.)
Isn't this interesting?
